Our Story
District Flames feeding the homeless at Juneteenth
District Flames is deeply rooted in the community, culture and lifestyle of Washington DC where the founders reside.
It all started at the University of District of Columbia, where they were the primary caterers for all school events. They also catered at Howard University for memorable events like Howard Homecoming and Yardfest which would attract large audiences and a lively atmosphere of fun and music. They were doing this alongside studying for their Bachelor’s degree at these two Colleges. The taste and aroma of the fresh exquisite cuisine were what brought life to every event.
Juneteenth, also known as Liberation Day, was another holiday that allowed them to express their love and care for their community by providing quality food for the local homeless and underserved people. By 2017, District Flames LLC was established.
The future goal is to establish the best authentic grilled cuisine globally. Today, a wide selection of cuisines and catering services, private events, special events are offered by District Flames.
